“The best way to have a good idea is to have lots of ideas”

How many times have you been in a company-wide brainstorming session and wondered what would happen to all of those great ideas?

Have you ever been the poor soul who was in charge of documenting the ideas and sharing them with the group?

How many times did those ideas accumulate in the form of dusty post-it notes that just sat around only to end up in a recycling bin?

"The best way to have a good idea is to have LOTS of ideas" - Linus Pauling

Ever wonder what those ideas could have accomplished if given the chance?

We are delighted to launch this Innovative Brainstorms tool – an enterprise application designed to give ideas a place to live and breathe and make complex problem solving simple. This tool has been hard at work helping some of today’s leading innovators deploy Brainstorms to solve challenges big and small. And today, some of the world’s brightest minds are sharing ideas on this platform – including Arup, Daimler, BP, Intel, TEDx and the innovative collaboration between NASA, USAID, Department of State, and NIKE called LAUNCH.

One of the key insights is that teams who openly share ideas and thinking are more likely to come up with well-rounded solutions to their biggest challenges. This Brainstorming tool enables teams to do just that – openly share ideas. Today, teams are using Brainstorms as fuel for their next marketing campaign, to inspire new products and services, or to discover the next big thing.

Here are 3 ways you can kick off a brainstorm to tackle your biggest challenges:

  • Internal brainstorms: Use Brainstorms to break down geographic and business unit silos by getting everyone working together on a specific challenge.

  • Partner brainstorms: Create a virtual brainstorm with key partners, distributors, industry experts and thought leaders who share your desire to solve a specific problem.

  • Public brainstorms: If you really want to solve a problem, don’t just get insights from your team and partners. Engage your customers, event attendees or even the public at large.

We believe in the power of ideas to fundamentally change the way the world does business. The right approach can help break down the barriers that keep your best ideas locked in silos and help you easily engage across teams, partners and customers. But the best ideas only thrive if they’re brought to life through real-time collaboration and idea sharing.

So what are you waiting for?

Join the world’s most innovative teams and start brainstorming today.

Candidate Notes Sept 2013 : The 'Challenge' of being flexible on location and salary.

If you are actively looking for work or a happy Passive Candidate these Notes are intended to keep you up to date with developments in the jobs’ market, forthcoming events and our news.

THE WRIGHT SOLUTIONS' BLOG

How to approach the ‘Challenge’ of being flexible on location and salary as a job seeker.

Imagine you are keenly looking for work and prepared and able to drop back to an admin role, step sideways in to a team leader role or get promoted to a managerial/director role. You live in Leeds; have family in Birmingham and a holiday home in Exeter. Yes you can absolutely apply for the 6 or 7 jobs you saw advertised by one national recruiter and you can do so confidently and with justification.

BUT what does the process look like to that recruiter when they look at the system and see you have applied for 7 jobs at levels from HR Director to HR Administrator in Stafford, Birmingham, Wakefield and Bristol.

It might look confused, random and badly thought out. And even though you have written a cover letter that explains your situation as clearly as you can the recruiter may not be able to see it, or may not have the time to read it (they have 30-40 other applicants to respond to as well). There is a chance therefore that they might prefer to look at the candidate who seems to have taken a more thoughtful approach to their job hunt!

Look at it another way though. You have just seen 6-7 jobs advertised by 1 agency and they are all of relevance to you. Are they then not the perfect agency to be talking to and building a relationship with?

What stops you picking up the phone to say, “I am looking for a job. I notice that you have about 7 that might be of relevance. Can I talk to you about my situation and see whether they might suit”.
