Introducing Opal Brainstorms.

It all starts with an idea

Throughout history we’ve seen the greatest innovations develop from one, often crazy, idea. Once upon a time the idea of a ‘flying machine’ was out of this world, and now look at the aviation industry!

We believe there is an ideas person in everyone but with our hectic schedules our ideas often fail to see the light of day. Opal Brainstorms was created to give all these unrealised ideas a place to get discovered and utilised to effect positive change - whether that be creating the next big product or solving a global issue.

Opal Brainstorms enables you to tap into the collective insight of your employees, partners, peers and customers and unlock a massive amount of information - all the stuff you never knew you never knew! Call in diverse perspectives to build better products, solve tougher challenges, stimulate more generative conversations and boost innovation.

Our fun and intuitive ideas platform is secured by SSL-encryption with cloud-based convenience and accessibility enabling you to collaborate and innovate in a secure environment on a variety of devices across the globe.

How does it work?

Using Opal Brainstorms you can run Sprints. Sprints are time-based, virtual brainstorms. Create a brainstorm around a theme or to solve a challenge. Break the challenge down into a series of questions and then invite in your participants to contribute their brilliant ideas then watch as all your ideas grow and evolve.

Opal Brainstorms lets you synthesise your collected ideas, categorising them to help you discover patterns and themes, which can then be exported, shared and printed.

During and post Sprint, we’ll provide you with metrics, tracking progress against agreed goals helping you ensure your Brainstorm is a success.

Three ways to use Sprints:

1. Internal Company Sprints:
Breakdown geographic and business unit silos and get everyone working together on a project or business issue.

Use case: BP use Company Sprints to work together on new ideas for the future of carbon energy and Arup has 11,000 brains working on their project inception ideas.

2. Collaborative Sprints:
Collaborate with your business partners, suppliers, distributors, industry experts and thought leaders.

Use case: Opal Brainstorms has been used as the glue in a collaborative project called LAUNCH, an initiative between NASA, USAID, Nike and the US Department of State to work through systems innovation problems.

3. Public Sprints:
Engage with the public at events or online. Amplify the impact of your next conference by enlisting attendees to share their ideas or gather feedback from your customers.

Use case: TEDxAustin and TED@Intel have used Public Sprint to generate hundreds of ideas with both live and online audiences.
